About the Role

Are you an experienced accountant with a passion for financial management and compliance? Our client, a reputable Danish trading company, is seeking a Chief Accountant to oversee and manage all financial activities for their operations in Vietnam. This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally connected team, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the company’s strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Maintain and manage all financial transactions, including bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for both local and HQ requirements.
  • Audits: Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits.
  • Taxation: Handle VAT, PIT, CIT, and other tax filings, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Budgeting: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to streamline accounting and financial processes.
  • Team Collaboration: Liaise with local teams, external stakeholders, and the HQ in Denmark for financial matters.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or chief accountant role.
    • Experience in a trading or import-export company preferred.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Chief Accountant Certificate is required.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
    • Strong knowledge of Vietnamese accounting standards (VAS) and tax regulations.
    • Fluent in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Danish is a plus.
  • Traits:
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
